Proverbs 1:24-27
[24] Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
[25] But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
[26] I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
[27] When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
There are dire consequences for despising wisdom, rejecting knowledge and revolting against Godly counsel and correction.
TPT 24 I’ve called to you over and over; still you refuse to come to me. I’ve pleaded with you again and again, yet you’ve turned a deaf ear to my voice.
25 Because you have laughed at my counsel and have insisted on continuing in your stubbornness, I will laugh when your calamity comes and will turn away from you at the time of your disaster.
26 Make a joke of my advice, will you? Then I’ll make a joke out of you! When the storm clouds of terror gather over your head,
27 When dread and distress consume you and your catastrophe comes like a hurricane,
The needless challenges, struggles and afflictions that people go through in life are not because GOD is causing them but because the world is evil, and there is a devil. And people refuse to acknowledge the provisions of GOD.
Wisdom, counsel, corrections, knowledge, divine revelations, insight, instructions, warnings are all GOD’S devices to shield, protect and preserve us from evil. They are the tools and means by which GOD shows us HIS salvation.
Psalms 34:19
[19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
