Day 30 – Proverbs 31 In 31 Days

Day 30.
Charm and grace are deceptive, and [superficial] beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord [reverently worshiping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with awe-filled respect], she shall be praised. (Proverbs 31:30 AMP)

The world says a woman has to look a certain way before she is called beautiful, but GOD says a woman has to be of the right spirit before she is valued as exceptional. (1 Peter 3:2-4

[2] While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
[3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
[4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

If you succumb to worldly standards of beauty, you will live a life of dissatisfaction, constantly seeking for ways to alter the natural design of GOD that you are, and facing the danger of the failure and degeneration of man’s alterations.

Dear daughter of GOD, don’t fall into the deception of satan. Superficial beauty is a scam. Don’t get carried away by what the world is projecting. Your body is a container that will pass away, it is your spirit man that will last in Christ. So pay attention to your spirit man. Develop your character, renew your mind with the word of GOD, and let the Holy Spirit do His work of transformation in your life. There is nothing more attractive to God and even to man, than a spiritually mature and well-refined character.

(but let it be [the inner beauty of] the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, [one that is calm and self-controlled, not overanxious, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God.
1 Peter 3:4 AMP

Let your true beauty come from your inner personality, not a focus on the external. For lasting beauty comes from a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is precious in God’s sight and is much more important than the outward adornment of elaborate hair, jewelry, and fine clothes.

The emphasis on your character is not to excuse you from taking care of yourself and looking your best, dressing for beauty and glory. It is to make you prioritise what is most important. Your fear of GOD, coupled with your service and obedience to Him is what will bring you honour and praise. In the kingdom, service is greatness, not beauty and glam. A well-rounded woman is one who pays attention to her Spirit, then soul and body. One whose heart is devoted to the Lord and consumed by Him. That’s the woman that is Blessed. And you can be that woman too.
