Not the kind that you are probably thinking about (smiles). But you need to be delivered from many things that will try to terminate and make your journey unnecessarily difficult.
You must get proper understanding from God’s word to know what we have been delivered from, and what we need to be delivered from.
We have been delivered from the domain of sin and satan (Colossians 1:13, Romans 6:14), so he has no dominion over us.
However, this does not exempt us nor stop the devil from harassing and attacking us through any and every means possible and available to him.
The Lord Jesus in His high priestly prayer for the saints acknowledged that there is evil in this world, such evil that poses major threats to the saints.
He specifically demanded that the father keep us from the evil that is in this world (John 17:15).
The Psalmist also helps us to see that the secret of longevity is deliverance (salvation).
Psalm 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation (deliverance).
You cannot live long if you do not escape the many dangers of this world;
James the brother of John the beloved was one of Jesus’s innermost circle of three, but he did not last long.
The Church failed James by not praying for him.
When they saw the same evil come after Peter, they woke up and prayed and Peter was delivered.(see Acts 12:1-25)
Apostle Paul spoke of how the Lord delivered him on an occasion and will yet deliver him afterwards.
2Co 1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
“So great a death” implies that the situation was so bad that Paul and his team thought this was the end.
Oh but GOD! GOD came through for them!
Beloved, you cannot wish evil away. You will have to do something about it.
First, you have to completely trust in GOD for deliverance from the evils that are in this world.
The devil wants to terminate you and wipe off your ministry – that’s no news!
But you must trust in GOD to rescue you all the time.
Let me show you this scripture:
Psa 68:20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues (DELIVERANCE) from death.
So, you must trust Him to always deliver you.
It is the will of GOD for you to escape ALL evil !
Note that, ALL not some !
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord DELIVERS him from them all (ref Psalm 34:19)!
The Lord Jesus told Paul from the inception of his ministry that He would deliver Him severally.
Act 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
Notice the present continuous tense “delivering” !
This is why Apostle Paul requested for prayers of deliverance severally in His writings to the Churches.
He asked for deliverance from prison (Philippians 1:19)
He asked for prayers to be delivered from wicked and unreasonable men (2 Thessalonians 3:2)
He alluded to haven been delivered from trouble (2 Corinthians 1:8-10)
He told Timothy how the Lord delivered him him from persecutions and afflictions at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra.
Careful study will show you that the primary way to secure this deliverance is PRAYER!
Pray for yourself, and ensure that you have people who pray for you.
I pray for you, that this year, that you will escape and be delivered from ALL evil !
May the Mercy of the Lord preserve You and Yours!
May the Lord raise for you an army of men and women who pray for you ceaselessly!
